2010 CHICAGO STEAM CO-ED BASKETBALL CAMP
AUGUST 2-5, 2010
The 2010 Chicago Steam Basketball Camp is committed to providing our campers with the opportunity to improve their game, reach their goals, and enjoy their experience at Whitney Young High School. An experienced staff of professional coaches and players will work with each camper individually to help him/her improve him/her basketball skills and realize his/her playing potential. Our camp staff takes much pride in establishing a fun and competitive environment.
Coach Ron Hicks and his camp staff will focus on total player development, teamwork and sportsmanship. All campers will be divided by age and skill level. The focus areas for the camp will consist of shooting, ball handling, rebounding, passing and defense. It is our goal to have each player improve by the end of the week!

The Chicago Steam has formed a partnership with Speakids
The Chicago Steam has formed a partnership with Speakids to help provide positive influences in the lives of our youth. Speakids is a non-profit organization focused on youth empowerment and positivity and on creating opportunities for young people to learn, grow and develop in safe, nurturing environments. Speakids staff and kids will be on hand at the Steam's playoff game on March 14 to fundraise for the group, including selling tickets for a raffle of an autographed official Steam game ball. Two of our womens players have recently gotten jobs in Europe: Tudy Reed and LaShawn Johnson are playing professional basketball in Portugal and Finland, respectively. From our mens team: Ryan Mueller is playing in the Czech Republic, Mike Henderson is playing in Mexico, Dewitt Scott is in Fort Wayne playing in the NDBL, Marcus Smallwood is playing in Germany, Jason Edward is in Russia and Chris Smith is in Iran.
